PGL - What a trip!
This year’s Year 6 residential took place at the PGL Activity Centre, Caythorpe, near Grantham. We were joined on the trip by the Year 6 children from our sister school, St Mary’s. It was always expected that a federated trip would increase the enjoyment of all the children involved, and in practise this was certainly the case. The children were able to meet, work and have fun with new friends. I’m sure that these new friendships will flourish in the future and providing support during the children’s transition to their secondary schools.
Our stay our Caythorpe was none stop, there was certainly no time to be homesick. (Sorry!) Children were arranged into four groups, which then rotated through the following activities; abseiling, raft building, challenge assault course, big swing, zip wire, Jacob’s ladder, rifle shooting and quad biking. All the children were brilliant with their courage and fearlessness often astounding me and their friends! Camaraderie was in abundance, everyone encouraging everyone else in their team.
Take a look at the photo galleries, but be aware, the photos do not do the fun experienced justice!!!!!!!!!
